Library west

Here's the model of Library West that I built, it's not to scale by any means, but it's as accurate as time would allow. Maya 8.5.

Just a few progress pictures from the final: modeling a building on campus. (Library West) Maya is just adorable sometimes.

a shot at love

I made some shot glasses as practice, about an hour's work, just to mess around with specular settings and ray tracing.

Jake completed... sort of

Here's Jake all rendered and stuff. He's still got some work to be done, I think. I may add glasses too ;D. (also some sketches I did today)

progress

Jake the owl is under contruction, finally.
I made a crappy reference for his textures, and did the basic modeling of the body.

Project 1 done

here's some progress pictures of the texturing process, and the final renders. Just a tip: if your texture is not working out on a simple object, just erase the existing UVs and make new ones! I learned this the hard way D:
here's the texture I painted in Photoshop from the reference chair: (oh, and it's a new chair model. I thought the texturing problem might have occurred because of the mode. wrong!)

Finished modeling

I might add curtains, but maybe not. I'm extremely horrid at texturing so I'm going to give it another go tomorrow. soo I added a cat, a chocolate fountain and strawberries, and a different rug for kitty. there's more beyond these, so this is just when i remembered to screencap.

chairs

I finished (?) the modeling of the two floral chairs that are in the room, I ended up using simple box modeling and a smoother over it because the NURBs are unfamiliar territory. I played with them a bit, but ultimately they would end up ripping apart.. or something. I guess they're made like bent metal sheets..kind of (that aren't fused together!).
anyway i finally got something done, and finished the chairs. the bigger chairs I'm not sure about, but I will probably just do separate models for them, since they're bigger and fluffier.
some screenshots: (about 3 hours?)

progress

here's what i got after about 2 and a half hours in the lab, including actually finding something to model. ( I NOW realize that there are supposed to be 4 reference pictures D:) so I hope this will be okay.
anyway, i've pretty much finished the basic details of the walls for the room: (p.s. I'm too lazy to crop these:)
