codec?

can anyone tell me which compressor to use? and are we still holding true to the 'beauty frames' in the syllabus?

I saw the fliers by the way = win.

It's too hot here for polar bears

so... He turned white. It has some thing to do with the textures applied to him, I looked at an older version, and he has the 'default' one on, but it's much darker in shading, and the color obviously shows up. I just want it back to normal :( th regular screen one still looks weird, like there's some kind of foggy film on him. (and the color is lighter)

old version:

EDIT

uhm, he's turning up normal now? I went to rendering--material editor, and it changed. the render is still white though.

EDIT: I FIXED IT muahaha. I had to assign a vertex color map to it, so it could render. : also, it was on a different lighting setting, so it was 'foggy'

help :''(

rendering NOT working right. I don't know what's wrong with it, but i sort of looks like the negative of what it should be.

*fret fret fret.*
EDIT: Premiere hates me too!

finished with the bees for the most part, need to figure out how to "end" the system age. The bees don't render with any color though, but i'm sure it's because the material map confuses me and I screwed it up somehow. (I end up clicking things randomly sometimes) but as a result of random clicking, I found out you can have 3ds max email you when your render is completed or fails ^_^ That could be useful for leaving and coming back, no? [no idea if it works] here's the screenshots for the rendering problem, past rigging I fixed and the bee tracking today.

:D

Finished with basic body animation, it's about 25 seconds. I need to do frames of just facial at the end though
To Do:
camera keying
rig problem areas
particle system bee animation
background images
get more bee sounds
finalize soundtrack
simple texture map--need black eyes and nose
test compressions in premier
do I need aftereffects?

here's what goes through my head lately:
I kept trying to make him lie down backwards, but it was not working, especially not with rotating the pelvis or center of mass. so now he sleeps to the side.

links for me:
particle system anim

sit, boy

this post will be continued.. just an update, finished sitting, bear will remain sitting for the remainder of animation. cuz it's cute ^_^ . can't get premier to open/install on my own computer. thanks, vista. new stuff coming from thurs/friday.
edit: got a litle more animation done, need to look up/ask about particle systems for the bees(I kind of forgot), I like the idea and it's probably easier to do than oozing honey. I'll probably be going to the Nave in the early afternoon until the evening-ish hours.

walk cycle

baby's first steps! done with opening walk-in, followed free form walk cycle tutorial to do it right. And I learned that yellow keys are not forboding doom, it just means there's another axis of movement on the center of motion: vertical and horizontal at the same time. :)

preview: I don't know what's wrong with it, it's pastel edition. :P

crunch time!

Rigging finished for the most part, starting on animation. Go go go! some screenshots I put together: I finally understand the skin/weights/assignments for skin modifier :) here are some before and afters:

after manual weighting:

here he is with his new skeleton:

and here's if you climbed up inside the mesh like a giant statue. (possibly actual size, the bear is huge)

Edit: >_<; yellow keys showed up again. I managed to exterminate it though. Of course I have no Idea how it got there or what I was doing.

D':

need to start over in rigging. every little vertex again. D: original biped died and such, couldn't move pelvis vertically.
